THE ANNUAL “MICHAEL GUNTON MASTERS CHARITY MATCH”

  ROCKINGHAM RAMS & GINGIN EAGLES

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND GENEROUS DONATIONS

2019 RAISED OVER $5,000

On Sunday 19 May, the Gingin Eagles and Rockingham Rams “Masters” Football teams came together at the Gingin Recreation Grounds to raise funds for Lachie Martin who’s recently been diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, a rare and incurable disease. With permanent damage already done to his heart, Lachie must now carry a defibrillator with him and be with a trained person at all times. He is also on heart medication to lower his heart rate. The family will soon be flying to Melbourne to see if Lachie is a candidate for a heart transplant. He has ongoing appointments at Perth Childrens Hospital, psychology appointments, trips to Melbourne for ongoing care, purchases of his own defibrillators for life (unless transplant occurs) and heart medications.

We have liaised with the Rockingham Rams for the past six years, raising much needed funds for families going through not only personal but also financial tough times. To date over $25,000 has been raised to help these families in our local communities.

This annual event showcases the Gingin LIMP and the Rockingham Masters teams where they get to re-live their glory days in their football finery, but most of the players have more tape, more grey hair and fuller figures – but they have a ball and it’s all for a great cause!
